Alexander Simonovici wants to “achieve great things together” as the new fitness trainer
The Austrian national badminton team is pleased to welcome Alexander Simonovici as the new fitness trainer at ÖBV. The experienced and versatile athletic trainer, whom sports coordinator Luka Wraber describes as “an absolute top man and a real stroke of luck,” brings his expertise to the training planning, performance monitoring and individual strength training of the ÖBV athletes.
Alex has been taking over the athletic training for the ÖBV team at the BSFZ Südstadt since the summer. He describes working with the team as particularly motivating: “Everyone works professionally and with full ambition – that’s not the case everywhere. That motivates me and together we want to achieve something great.” He will also accompany the team as a supervisor at the Mixed Team European Championship qualification.
Another focus of his work is the intensive care of young player Pascal Cheng, who is preparing for the European Youth Championships after a knee injury. Through targeted training with Alex, the young badminton ace has the opportunity to further increase his fitness and make important progress towards competitive sports. The 18-year-old is currently playing for WAT Simmering in the 1st Bundesliga.
