Badminton: Great achievements and fun at Halloween

… the U 13 / U 15 age groups started in Offenbach. At the tournament in Mörfelden, Adrian Ebert and his partner Moritz, who plays in Hofheim, competed in doubles. They delivered a great performance, although they lost in three sets in the first round against the eventual winners, but in the end they took a strong second place.

The highlight was the U11 girls’ tournament, in which the Bremthal players took all the places on the podium. Jasmin Röwer and Johanna Tischler secured overall victory in an exciting final against Hana Lee and Anna Schulze, while Milena Cilla and Alessia Vaturro achieved third place and completed the triple victory. In Offenbach, Felix Stiegler achieved a great third place in the U15 individual. Felix had to go over three sets twice and lost his duel in the semi-finals. In the game for third place, however, he held his nerve and secured victory in the decisive set with 24:22. Arne Röwer also delivered a strong performance in the same competition. In the quarterfinals he unfortunately lost in three sets, but emerged victorious in an extremely close game for fifth place. Emma Feige also competed in the U15 individual competition and beat her opponent in three sets with a strong performance in the match for 11th place.

A special tournament also took place on Saturday in the Comenius Hall in Bremthal. Numerous players of all ages from SG Bremthal/Fischbach met for a fun competition. The only requirement was to wear the scariest possible Halloween costume and be in a good mood. There was exuberant playing with music and nibbles, even if the movements were unusual with various capes and masks. The unanimous opinion of the participants was that this tournament was a complete success and should be included in the club’s annual calendar.
