After a valiant opposition against Roubaix, the AUC Badminton players returned to the courts this Sunday. Facing them was Volant Basséen, just behind in the standings (5th with 6 points). The Amiens disposed of their opponents of the day rather easily.
It was the men’s and women’s doubles who started this day. On the male side, Léo Crépin and Maxime Maj flew over their meeting (21-10, 21-12 – 1-0) after breaking away at the start of each set. The women’s doubles, composed of Doriane Liard and Rachel Messan lost in three sets, even if the game had started well for the two Amiens (21-18, 18-21, 15-21 – 1-1).
For the first singles match, it is Yvon Crepelle who presents himself against Paul Ansquin. After getting off to a bad start in his match, the Amiens player re-mobilized after the time-out of the first set to finally take it (21-18). Still in the same dynamic, he won the second round much more calmly (21-11). Amiens therefore returns to the front (2-1). At the same time, Olivia Binois faces Julie Clisant in the first women’s singles of the day. In a rather close match, it was the local side who won, two sets to zero. (21-18, 21-16 – 3-1).
After Crepelle, it’s Maxim Maj who is about to play, facing Simon Fruit. After winning the first set, Picard confirms in the second to allow the AUC to take off (21-14, 21-13 – 4-1). To complete this third rotation, Doriane Liard can allow the Samarians to definitively validate this success. Unfortunately, faced with a superior opponent, the hierarchy is respected and the AUCist bows (7-21, 9-21 – 4-2).
You must therefore win at least one of the two matches to validate the victory. For the first mixed doubles, it is Yvon Crepelle and Rachel Messan who come into play. After winning the first set despite some cold sweats, the Amiens ensure in the second round (22-20, 21-10 – 5-2). A victory which validates Amiens domination, which will be confirmed a few moments later by the success of the doubles Léo Crépin-Olivia Binois (21-18, 21-15 – 6-2).
A great victory for the AUC against its pursuer, which allows it to distance itself from the red zone and return to equality with Hem, third.
