In the covered gymnasium of the Universidad de Oriente (UDO), the badminton discipline competition of the Oriente 2024 National Games is taking place from last Tuesday, November 19 to this Friday, November 22.

This is a racket sport played individually or in pairs, in which each team is located on an opposite side of a net hanging in the air and makes a projectile called a shuttlecock, cockerel or feather pass over it, without leaving it. touch the ground, hitting it in turns with their rackets.

Three states participate in this discipline and will be competing in the venue until this Friday, November 22, when the tournament finals will take place.

This was commented by Jesús Cabrera, administrative coordinator of the Monagas Nucleus of the UDO.

“The university is collaborating with its facilities, logistics, with the support of the Mayor’s Office, the Government, so that the discipline moves forward and so that the state is also in a good position in terms of organizing these Games.”

These tournaments have been witnessed by the students of the UDO Monagas core, but are open to the public.

“We also take this opportunity to invite the general public to come to our facilities so they can enjoy this magnificent sporting event,” he highlighted.

In addition, it is expected that some of the tournaments of the 2024 Paranational Games will be held in this study center, as reported by Dr. María Elena Pintos Rodríguez, dean of the Monagas Nucleus.
