NHL: Two assists from Stützle are not enough for Ottawa Senators
Two assists from Tim Stützle were not enough for the Ottawa Senators to win a point. The national ice hockey player and his team suffered a 2:4 defeat against the New York Islanders in the NHL. With six wins from 13 games, the Canadians are currently second to last in the Atlantic Division.
Directly above Ottawa are the Buffalo Sabers with John-Jason Peterka. The Munich native celebrated his team’s second win in a row with a 6-1 win at the New York Rangers. Peterka contributed a template. Meanwhile, Lukas Reichel with the Chicago Blackhawks (1:3 in Dallas) and Nico Sturm with the San Jose Sharks (2:5 against Minnesota) also suffered defeats.
NBA: Antetokounmpo and Lillard end the Bucks’ losing streak
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard ended the Milwaukee Bucks’ losing streak in the NBA. The duo combined for 65 points in the 123:100 win against the Utah Jazz. The Bucks had previously lost six games in a row – the success was only the second win of the season in the eighth game for the champions from three years ago.
For Antetokounmpo it was also the return after a short injury break. He finished the evening with 31 points and 16 rebounds, and Lillard also had 7 assists in addition to his 34 points. The Utah Jazz also entered the encounter with six defeats in seven games and are now the only team in the league with seven defeats.
Bronny James in for now Lakers junior team
The only father-son duo in the US professional basketball league NBA is history for now: Bronny James, son of superstar LeBron James, will play for the Los Angeles Lakers’ development team, the South Bay Lakers, as announced. The club announced this.
The Californians’ second team starts the new G-League season this weekend. According to ESPN, 20-year-old Bronny James will only play home games for his new team.
The son of four-time NBA champion LeBron James made history with his father at the end of October when they both stood on the NBA court together for the Lakers in their win against Minnesota. In three games in the NBA, Bronny James has since played 13 minutes and scored four points.
NFL: Burrows Bengals lose again – Lamar Jackson with four touchdowns
Quarterback Lamar Jackson won a spectacular playmaking duel with Joe Burrow and led the Baltimore Ravens to a 35:34 win against the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL. Both quarterbacks had four touchdown passes each. Jackson threw passes for a total of 290 yards. Burrow even threw for an outstanding 428 yards, but in the end he was unlucky because the referees didn’t call any fouls in the decisive scene after the last touchdown and there were no points at all instead of the hoped-for two points. The three touchdowns for Bengals pass receiver Ja’Marr Chase and his 264 yards after caught balls were therefore ultimately worthless.
The Ravens, on the other hand, were happy about their seventh win of the season despite being 14 points behind in the second half. A touchdown from Derrick Henry brought the hosts back into the game, who has now reached the end zone in every game of the season and has already delivered extremely strong performances as a newcomer.
For the Bengals, the defeat meant a severe setback in the race for the playoff places. In the AFC North, the team is only in third place behind the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ravens. Only the division winner is safe in the playoffs. All other teams are fighting for the remaining three places in a conference.
