The Spanish winger is expected to be sidelined for around a month.
FC Barcelona’s Spanish winger Ansu Fati is suffering from a new hamstring muscle injury which is expected to keep him out of action for around a month, the Catalan club said in a statement on Wednesday. The 22-year-old Spanish international, whose meteoric progress has been halted by recurring injuries, was injured in the biceps femoris of his right thigh in training and will miss at least four weeks of competition, according to the Spanish giant, leader of Liga.
Loaned last year to Brighton, the former great hope of Spanish football should therefore be out of the Champions League match against Brest on November 26, as well as the La Liga matches against Celta Vigo, Las Palmas, Mallorca and Betis Sevilla. On Monday, Barça announced the unavailability of two other of its star attackers, Robert Lewandowski (lower back) and Lamine Yamal (ankle), respectively for a period of 10 days and two to three weeks.
