Baseball turns the page. Mazzieri president of Fibs

He started the election campaign a little quietly. Trying to carry forward “his” ideas. Those that led him to be, in 40 years of baseball, first a great player, then an excellent coach and now a teacher of the “Old Game” to the little ones. But those ideas ultimately fulfilled a dream: that of becoming president of the Federbaseball. Marco Mazzieri, from Grosseto, 62 years old, was proclaimed Fibs President for the four-year period 2025-28 with 56.04% of the preferences in the run-off with Andrea Marcon (42.70%). He is the ninth president in the history of the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation. His ideas won: more Italians on the pitch, Regional Academies and Serie A to be completely reformed. “If they had told me 50 years ago that I would be president of this movement that has given me so much, I wouldn’t have believed it – said Mazzieri immediately after the proclamation –. We really want to be everyone’s Federation, we don’t want to leave anyone behind and we want putting the whole movement in a position to work at its best. Thank you all so much.” Now another phase opens up for the beat and run. Even in Grosseto where the two top companies were also divided on the candidate: the BBC was convinced on Mazzieri, the Bsc Grosseto instead focused on Marcon.
