Baseball Vercelli: “We need a covered structure to train in the winter”

The “open” baseball season has ended and, for the Vercelli club, it was another year full of satisfaction. Of course, the second tricolor for the Under 15s was missed, which is not always something to be achieved in any sport, but the bronze at the national teams and the successes in series at the Piedmontese level (championship and Cup always branded U15 second and third place for the Under 13s) are certainly an excellent viaticum for the future. At Baseball Vercelli, however, no time is wasted: «We have resumed indoor training for all categories – confirms president Marco Natalini -, which will be carried out in the Magistrale school gym».

Indoor winter training is a fundamental preparatory activity for the competitive growth and athletic development of children in the various categoriesfor this reason the Vercelli club launches an appeal to the institutions and all those who can intervene in an ambitious project: «As in the past, this winter too we would really like our boys, many of whom are Italian champions, regional champions, to be part of the national team and selected by MLB teams, like Patrick Silva who landed in Philadelphia, finally had an indoor facility adjacent to the Bob Clemente field in via Viviani”. As happens in various sports where, alongside the main structure, other facilities have arisen which have expanded the offer and services.

Gym costs

In addition to avoiding the costs associated with the use of school gyms, inevitably linked to timetables shared with other sports clubs. «Without presumption, we think that Baseball Vercelli deserves it for the excellent sporting results it has achieved for decades, thanks to which the city has also had notable repercussions in terms of interests». The indoor structure, confirms the owner grgioazzurro «would be attractive not only for Baseball Vercelli, but for the entire competitive activity of Eastern Piedmont, of which at the moment, our club represents a point of reference also at an organizational level. We hope that this appeal reaches all public and private stakeholders, as well as those linked to the federationso that this fundamental work for the growth of our sport can be carried out in which we reiterate it, we are taken as an example throughout the region”. While waiting for the project to take shape, Marco Natalini’s team is preparing for its debut in the Western League. The Under 12 boys will make their debut on the 24th in Novara in a group with Senago, Lentate, Athletics Novara and Rho.
