It was a debut worth remembering for Grant Basile, Italy’s top scorer in the match against Iceland, valid for the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers.
With 19 points, the Pallacanestro Cantù winger was the best scorer of the day and author of a solid performance, made up of 19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 20 minutes. Tomorrow at 8.30pm, again against Iceland, there will be a repeat match in Reggio Emilia.
For Basile, the debut in blue was very special: «For me and my family it is an honor to wear this shirt: it was emotional. It was amazing to train with these guys and the coaching staff did a great job. It was a great match and I’m happy, I say it once again, to play with Italy written on my chest. We fought and managed to come out of a difficult moment well.”
