Beaten in Detroit by the Pistons the day before (122-121), the Hawks were unable to resist the Chicago Bulls on the night of Saturday to Sunday in their Philips Arena. They lost 113-125 after cracking down the stretch.
The team coached by Quin Snyder, which led by 10 points at halftime (70-60), in fact gave up in the last quarter, losing 15-35 under pressure from Ayo Dosunmu (19 points), Zach Lavine (18) and Nikola Vucevic (18). A decline in performance which is partly explained, as the coach noted after the meeting, by a demanding schedule. Atlanta played five games in seven days.
Aligned for 26 minutes with the Georgian club, Geneva’s Clint Capela produced an honorable card. With 20 personal points, he was the Hawks’ most productive player tied with American Jalen Johnson. This is his record since the start of the 2024-2025 regular season. His previous reference mark dated November 7 (18 points against New York).
The Swiss pivot was also credited with an assist and nine rebounds.
The Hawks will play their next match on Tuesday at 4 a.m. (Swiss time) after a long flight. They will indeed be opposed to the Sacramento Kings in California.
In the standings, they are 11th in the Eastern Conference with an intermediate record of four wins and seven losses. The dance is led by Cleveland, victorious over Brooklyn (105-100) and his immaculate record (11 outings, 11 smiles).
