Honored by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abdulah Marson Moustapha, and the president of the Malagasy Basketball Federation, Jean Michel Ramaroson, the final of the Alley Hoop basketball tournament, sixth edition, kept all its promises in terms of spectacle and techniques, Sunday at the Mahamasina Sports Palace.
Of the one hundred and seven participating teams, all categories combined, Youth Radio (RDJ), organizer of the tournament, has already shown a preview of the organization of the Africa Cup of 3×3 basketball that Madagascar will host, from November 30 to December 1st in Antananarivo.
In the final of the male elite category, Elly Randriamampionona, Livio Ratianarivo, Monja Romain Faralahy and Anthony Nelson Rasolomanana, forming the Ankoay 1 team, outclassed Ankoay 3 consisting of Arnol Solondrainy, Rick-Ley Loubacky, John Ravelomanantsoa and Mmsaid Amed Rakotoson, on the score of 21-15.
Very tight
In the ladies’ elite, Ankoay 1, composed of Muriel Hajanirina, Rondro Emeranchine Raherimanana, Sydonie Marie Erica Andriamihajanirina and Solotiana Miora Mampionona, beat the Ankoay 2 team in the final with a very close score of 16-15. Christiane Minaoharisoa Jaofera, Ravaka Sarobidy Andriatahiana and Sambatrarimiora Tokiniaina.
In the U23 category, the two Ankoay men’s and women’s teams dominated the competition. On the men’s side, Mario’s team won 20-12 against CTMC, and Maya’s team beat Family 17-7.
In U17 girls, the “4 Fantastiques” won with a score of 15 to 2 against Pintade. Among the boys, Tama Land beat the ASSM basketball players with a score of 15 to 11.
After seeing the performances of the future members of the Ankoay national team for the Africa Cup in Madagascar in less than a month, the Minister of Youth and Sports gives his opinion: “I hope that Madagascar will keep the trophy home, during this African game.
