Namur 58 – Mechelen 80
20-14, 14-27, 13-23, 11-16.
NAMUR: Leblon 11 (1×3), Poyraz 4, Virjoghe 11, Bully 2, Wadoux 11 (1×3), Boosten, Hucorne 2, Dossou 8, Remacle 5 (1×3), Franquin 4.
Well into their match, with Virjoghe and Wadoux at the finish, the Namuroises were the first to create a break (13-7, 6th) and seemed confident. They are still eight points ahead at the start of the second quarter but Kangeroes finds options inside, before Hanson equalizes with a long-range shot (27-27, 14th). The Mechelen shooters were not left out while Namur experienced a big offensive slack, not scoring for almost five minutes. Difficult to stop, Reese enjoys himself on the throw line and Mechelen scores a seven-point victory at the break. Leblon draws Namur Capitale at the start of the second half but the visitors are more skilful. Three Namur baskets fell in one minute but a second bomb from Nauwelaers and a small shot from Reese hurt (43-61, 28th). In the final period, Namur Capitale struggled to score while the Malinois shots went in (47-74, 36th). The Mosanes recovered at the end of the match and avoided a heavier addition, but suffered their second defeat in the championship.
