Victim of a broken finger on his right hand, the French winger (or strong winger) from Oklahoma City will not be able to play for three to four weeks.

Will we see Ousmane Dieng on the floor again before Christmas? Nothing is less certain. While his Oklahoma City team has had a very good start to the season, with twelve victories for only four defeats on the clock, and a second place in the Western Conference tied with Golden State, the French winger (or strong winger) of The 21-year-old was injured Friday during a game with G-League team the Oklahoma City Blue. He fractured the ring finger on his right hand and will be out for three to four weeks. A hard blow for the native of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, who was in the process of making his place within one of the best teams in the League. Ousmane Dieng played in all sixteen Thunder matches, averaging 12 minutes of play and 3.5 points. Even without appearing in the starting five, the Frenchman notably obtained 21 minutes of play (for 7 points and 5 rebounds) during the big victory against Phoenix on November 15. But here he is cut off in his momentum, while the Thunder approaches a series of big matches, with a Californian road trip (Sacramento, Golden State, Lakers) then a trip to Houston, which follows him in the standings.

Lots of injuries at the Thunder

Drafted in eleventh position by the New York Knicks in 2022, Ousmane Dieng was immediately sent to OKC, where he played 39 then 33 games during his first two seasons. He has a contract until the end of the 2026 season. The Thunder are currently weakened by injuries, as the absence of Ousmane Dieng comes in addition to the very important absence of Chet Holmgren, victim of a hip fracture and out at least until Januaryto that of Jaylin Williams (adductors), absent for a few more days, just like Alex Caruso (hip) and Isaiah Joe (calf), without forgetting that of Nikola Topic, who will not play this season due to a ligament injury of the knee. Fortunately for OKC, pivot Isaiah Hartenstein has just made his return.
