After the splendid victory in the derby in Barcelona, Svincolati Milazzo continues its positive streak by beating Pallacanestro Antoniana at the Pala Milone with a final +26. Success which confirms Coach Priulla’s boys in second place in the standings at the end of the first round of the first phase of the Interregional Serie B championship
Pallacanestro Antoniana started strong, achieving a 5-0 run with Chirico and Bolis. Scredi unlocks the scoreboard for the locals, Lalic emulates him and Svincolati goes ahead, +1 at 6’31 from the first siren. The Campanians put their noses forward again but it is still the Scredi – Lalic duo who bring the home team to +4.13-9. Antoniana does not give up, responds to the Sicilians but two consecutive bombs from Giambò and Lalic close the period at 19-11 in favor of the Mamertines.
The second quarter opens with four consecutive points from Giannullo for +10 Milazzo. Festinese stands out and scores for -6 with 6’25 left before the long break. Rimsa lights up, Quarta hits from beyond the arc and a four-point play by Scredi launches Svincolati at +15, 34-19. Coach Priulla sends Malual onto the pitch who responds immediately. The young player born in 2006 scores five consecutive points and the blue and whites are on +20. Coach Festinese is forced to call a timeout but upon returning the music does not change and with Scredi on the shields the second siren arrives with a score of 48-26 for the Milazzesi.
The third half immediately records Festinese’s bomb for the guests – 19. However, Svincolati continues to have the game in hand and with Lalic and a triple from Giambò they reach +26 after two minutes. Captain Bolletta breaks the deadlock, Scredi takes the lead and Pallacanestro Antoniana sinks to -31 with 3’50 left before the third siren. In the guests’ darkest moment comes their reaction of pride. The Festinese-Vranjes-Bolis trio carries the team on their shoulders, Svincolati seems to pull the plug and the Campania team closes to -16 at the end of the period, 66-50.
We return to the field for the last ten minutes and after Coach Priulla’s outburst, not happy with the partial suffered, Milazzo goes back to his old ways. Lalic scores with three consecutive free throws and after two bombs from Quarta and Scredi Svincolati definitively closes the game, +24 with 7’10 from the siren. The final minutes saw the locals in total control and Rimsa replenishing their spoils. President Giambò’s team wins with the final score of 93-67 to the delight of their supporters.
