The affair started rather badly for the teammates of Couzigou and Pellure, forced to endure the crossfire of alternating shots from the formidable Bordeaux leader Mc Clanahan and those of his longer-range companions, Demazeau, Wansi Fonkua and especially Alamudum.
Led at the start of the debates 4-9 (5e), the locals slowly returned to the score thanks first to Monceau with three points shortly after the 6ebut nevertheless concede the first period 15-20. Nothing alarming however, except that if the formidable Mc Clanahan does as he pleases, there is a danger of seeing the opponent take off and, consequently, difficulty in getting back on track. In fact, quite the opposite is happening. Couzigou enters the game at the start of the second quarter and fires a three-pointer. The co-captain persists and signs by adjusting two achievements in quick succession, including a new three-pointer. When he finds his arm, the boy hurts! He puts his team in the lead 25-23 for the first time in the 13the. Seck comes together and concludes a great collective action in which Pellure and Demont were involved. In short, the period ended with a significant 28-14 and a nine-point lead at half-time (43-34).
The very catchy JSAs
Nine points ahead is good, but it is far from irremediable. The Bordelais proved it, they inflicted a 6-0 from the restart and won the quarter 15-22, repositioning themselves at 58-56 as they entered the final straight. Obiejesi lined up for the locals from the start, while Demazeau and Desmont kept theirs in the game. The shocks are harsh. Gendrey and Seck are pushing hard. There are 67-61 halfway through the period when Gilles Versier recalls his “machine”, Emmanuel Monceau, who has been on the bench for a while. He immediately scores a three-pointer and prepares a winning shot for Seck. Less than three minutes from the buzzer, the BBM is eleven points ahead and finishes off the Girondins on the momentum.
