The BO lost at Mont-de-Marsan this Thursday, during the 10th day of Pro D2. The head was within reach…
Biarritz, tied on points with leader Montauban at the start of the 10th day of Pro D2, missed a chance on Thursday to temporarily take the lead in the championship standings by losing to Mont-de-Marsan (33-15). At half-time, thanks to a try from their scrum half Imanol Biscay (13-8), the Biarrots held the defensive bonus point which would have taken them to the top of the Pro D2. But the Montois accelerated after the restart, inflicting a 20-0 on them and taking them out of the bonus. A try in the 79th minute from winger Zach Kibirige changed nothing.
In the standings, Biarritz remains stuck at 27 points, the same total as Montauban, which hosts promoted Nice (15th) on Friday at Sapiac, and Grenoble, traveling to its neighbor Oyonnax (11th). With 26 points, Provence Rugby (4th) will also be able to aim for the lead in the event of success against Aurillac (13th). With its fourth victory of the season, Mont-de-Marsan, only 13th at kick-off, gives itself a little breathing space.
