He Super Amara Bera Bera will be in the group stage of the EHF European League after coming back from the third round tie against the powerful Polish MKS Lublin, which had a four-goal lead from the first leg, winning by six goals (26-20) and thus join the party of the Spanish women’s teams in the continental competitions this weekend.
It started off very brave polish team, who took advantage of the local nervousness to take the lead. But the localesonce their anxieties had subsided, they began to pose danger to the central Esther Arrojeria showing off to have at all times within the game the Basque group. joined the defense and Lucía Prades started to stop.
With the score 8-5, the Polish coach had to interrupt the match with a timeout, because she was beginning to see that the task of moving on to the next phase was not going to be easy at all. Bera Bera equalized the tie in the 22nd minute (10-6) and a new match began in which favoritism now fell to a Spanish team, which dominated until half-time with the contribution of the international Carmen Arroyo.
Things got uglier for the locales at the start of the second half when the Lublin reduced the lead to three goals and Bera Bera’s nerves returned that was no longer as fueled as in the first period and that the visitors were becoming gigantic. Lublin had withstood the first attack, but could not withstand the second, again led by Arrojeria and Arroyo to break Polish resistance in an excellent last quarter defensively.
Of the consecutive errors when the local team was in charge seven up in the final five minutes gave life to Lublin in an exciting ending, deservedly resolved for the Bera Bera with the goal on the Etxeberria horn, which was worth a pass to the group stage of the European League for the Basque team.
