Dusan Alimpijevic, the Head Coach of our Beşiktaş Fibabanka Team, said the following in his statement after the away match against Trefl Sopot, in which we won 100-79:
“It was an important match for us. Contrary to the score at the end of the match, it was a very difficult match. I think our opponent is a team that can cause problems for many teams at home. They are a good team and have a good coach. They have a dangerous system that can punish you if you let them play their basketball. They started the Polish League 5 on 5 and have players who can play for many important teams in Europe.
Even though they had not won a match in the EuroCup until this match, we knew that the matches ended with close margins. That’s why I’m proud of the basketball we played today. It wasn’t easy. There is a two-hour time difference with Türkiye. We reached here with two transfers. We came here after playing a very tough match in the Basketball Super League. That’s why I’m proud of my team for the game we played from the first to the last second.”
