Bolívar delegation was present at the Oriente 2024 National Sports Games

Until the 24th of this month, 371 Bolivarian athletes will participate in 25 sports disciplines

The General José Antonio Anzoátegui Olympic Stadium, located in Barcelona, ​​was the scene of the inauguration of the XXI National Sports Games Oriente 2024, which will be held in the states of Anzoátegui, Monagas and Sucre as main venues, and as sub-venues; Carabobo, Falcón and Guárico.

From November 8 to 24, the most important national sports event in Venezuela will host more than 7,500 athletes from all the states of the country, including Guayana Esequiba in 57 sports disciplines.

The opening ceremony was led by President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores, accompanied by Arnaldo Sánchez, Minister of Popular Power for Sports, and the governors of the host entities.

The state of Bolívar came to this edition with 371 athletes in 25 sports disciplines, surpassing the participation record of 2022. “Thanks to the support of President Nicolás Maduro and Governor Ángel Marcano, we managed to have this important delegation of athletes, delegates and coaches in the National Sports Games 2024,” emphasized Omar Goudett, president of the Sports Institute (Idebol).

Goudett stated that the National Games will mark a milestone in the country’s history. “This is the golden generation that will represent Venezuela in the different international competitions in 2025, and our state of Bolívar will provide athletes for our national team.”

Bolivarians in competition

The competitive party started this weekend, and seven of the judo athletes will see action on the tatami of the Events Room of the Hotel San Miguel, Golf and Club de Maturín.

In the male branch there will be the judokas; Juan Hernández, in the -55kg category, Andrés León -60kg, Danny Ríos -66kg and Francisco López in the -73kg. While Alexandra Arcia in the 48kg, Leomarys Ruiz 52kg and Natalia Odremán in the -57kg will do the same in search of medals to exalt our region.

In other competitions, the court volleyball team will make its debut against the Capital District team, a match that will take place in the Volleyball Gymnasium of the Maturín Sports Complex.

For its part, the men’s beach volleyball duo will seek to position themselves in fifth place in the discipline, while the field kickingball team will face the Portuguesa team to define fifth and sixth place in the Oriente 2024 National Games.

It is expected that this Sunday, November 9, the standard bearers of the Bolivarian delegation, Audreys Pacheco, in the -63Kg and Luis Pariche in the -81Kg, of the judo discipline, will compete. Bolívar Government Press
