With five gold medals for the Bolívar state, the judo discipline began this Saturday, November 9, at the 2024 Oriente National Games, whose competitions are held at the facilities of the Hotel San Miguel de Maturín and will last until Sunday.
Juan Hernández (55 kilos), Andrés León (60) and Francisco López (73), in men, and Leomaris Ruiz (52) and Natalia Ódreman (57), in women, rose to the top of the podium, while Alexandra Arcia (57) won the bronze. On this day, in addition, Elkis Méndez (in the women’s 48 kilo division) and Miguelángel Chirinos (in the men’s 66 kg) took the gold medals for Falcón, as did Jokasli Freites (44 kg) for Apure.

The Carabobo delegation took the four silver medals for women, where La Guaira, Lara and Yaracuy shared the other bronze medals. Miranda took three silver and Caracas one in men’s, while Lara took two bronze and Apure and Aragua with one each. Jesús Mendoza and Lenín Silva competed for Monagas, who were in the top seven.
Judo completes its activities this Sunday with combats in the categories of 63, 7.0, 78 and +78 kilos for women and 81, 90, 100 and +100 kilos for men, with the participation of Monaguenses, Gabriel Roca, Aníbal Rivas, Agustín Millán, Leonardo Rivas and Enederlis Pérez.
