The management of the extra-league club reacted to the unsuccessful start to the season and terminated cooperation with the head coach on Tuesday by mutual agreement. At the same time, assistant coach Ján Tabaček is also leaving the team.

“We decided to make this change to give the team the necessary impetus. The start of the season was not easy for us due to several factors. We are currently working on other changes that will lead us on the right path.” stated club president František Sucharda for the official website of “Býkov”.

Čaládi has been working in the coaching structures of the club since the 2022/2023 season, in which he was assistant to Gergely Majoross. After the departure of Majorossa, he took over the team in the position of head coach in the 2023/2024 season.

“I greatly appreciate Erik’s passion and the work he has done here for two and a half years. He is a young domestic coach who is constantly learning. For this reason, we would also like him to continue in the position of assistant coach with the team.” added Sucharda. According to the club’s website, the hockey public will learn the name of the new head coach in the coming days.

After seventeen rounds of Tipos extraliga 2024/2025, Nové Zámky is in the last 12th place of the table with nine points, nine points behind Liptovský Mikuláš in tenth and Trenčín in eleventh.
