Who knows, Donald Trump‘s victory will probably have fueled him. Certainly, Christian Burns celebrated the victory against Avellino (and Trump) with a lap of the field wearing the red hat – a gadget-symbol of the election campaign of the new president of the United States – with the words “Make America Great Again” (Let’s make America great again) and a Stars and Stripes flag. They passed it to him from the stands, evidently well aware of the Trumpist positions of the American player, naturalized Italian by marriage: “I’m happy for his victory, even if I didn’t vote,” he said at the end of the match.
But evidently it wasn’t just the victory of the Republican candidate for the White House that galvanized Burns. The big man from Cantù showed off the performance of a twenty-year-old, despite the fact that he is now very close to turning forty. With 22 points scored in 20 minutes on the court – and what percentages: 7/8 from two and 2/2 from three -, to which he was also able to combine 7 rebounds taken (Cantù’s best) and an assist, he was a of the team’s leaders.
