After several weeks of waiting, the new series of Franck Gastambide is finally available on Netflix. After Valid which offered us a behind-the-scenes look at the world of rap, it is now MMA which is at the heart of the Cage.

A combat sport that is, to say the least, unknown to the general public! However, be aware that fans of the genre will be able to find many stars of this discipline. The most knowledgeable will thus recognize George St Pierre, Ciryl Gane or even Jon Jones.
But then, what is MMA (Mixed Martial Arts or mixed martial arts in French)? It is a combat sport that combines different techniques from several martial disciplines, such as boxing, wrestling, karate, kickboxing, judo and many others.
Everything takes place in an octagonal enclosure closed by a fence called the Cage to guarantee the safety of the participants. To win, a fighter must take their opponent to the ground and submit them or win by knockout. Rules vary between organizations but most try to avoid serious injuries by prohibiting hits to the back of the head or eyes.
In short, fighters have the advantage of being able to use the techniques of the discipline with which they are most comfortable. Each fight is therefore particularly interesting because it is often unique and unpredictable.
Physical preparation is essential for MMA fighters
Suffice to say that this discipline requires intense preparation where endurance, strength, strategy and mentality are absolutely essential to win. In addition, as it combines several different combat sports, each practitioner must master numerous techniques. They cannot therefore rest on their laurels.
Furthermore, as we see very clearly in the Netflix series, this sport conveys real values such as discipline, respect and surpassing oneself if we go beyond the violence usually decried by the public.
Something to perhaps awaken new passions? One thing is certain, the Cage should not leave you indifferent!
