Cameron Hannaford Christie (born July 24, 2005 in Arlington Heights, Illinois, USA) is an American basketball player at the position of shooting guard. He played college basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers and has been under contract with the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA since 2024 and plays for the San Diego Clippers training team in the NBA G-League.
Christie grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois and attended Rolling Meadows High School. He played on the basketball team there and averaged 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in his junior year.
Christie announced that he would play for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He began his freshman season as a reserve and made his debut in a 102-76 win against the UTSA Roadrunners, where he scored 18 points. On December 6, 2023, he was in the starting lineup for the first time in a 76:65 win against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Christie finished the season with 11.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. At the end of the season, he announced that he would register for the upcoming NBA Draft.
Christie was selected in the second round with the 46th pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2024 NBA Draft on June 27, 2024. He signed his first professional contract on July 5, 2024. He made his professional debut in the NBA G-League training league in a 122:107 win against the Rip City Remix. There he scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist.
Christie’s older brother Max is also a basketball player and is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA.
