They would have preferred to act with force rather than take legal action, but now they will have to deal with the consequences of their actions. This is the story of a 32 year old and a 39 year old from Bosconero and of a 27 year old from Cuorgnèwho found themselves at the center of an investigation by the Volpiano police for a long series of crimes: threats, theft, robbery, extortion, personal injury, damage and even abusive exercise of one’s rights. Il judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Ivreaat the end of the investigations, placed a restrictive measure on the three men: ban on leaving their municipality of residence and obligation to stay at home from 9pm to 7am.
The facts date back to last March and see at the center of the investigations a mixture of threats, violence and an alleged settling of scores. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, the three had shown up at the apartment of a businessman from Volpiano, rented by one of their relatives, to demand the return of the keys. The lease would have expired the next day, but the man had asked for a few more days to find another place. When he refused, tensions exploded: the three allegedly threatened the shopkeeper who stole it 3,500 euros in cash kept in a bedside table and stolen one fifty liters of olive oiland then threw some of his personal effects onto the street. Frightened, the trader turned to the police and reported the incident.
The complaint, however, had not stopped the three, who a few days later showed up again in the company of other people, determined to force him to withdraw the accusation. It was then that the situation degenerated into a real punitive raid. The trader, who was in his business with a friend, was brutally attacked: hit with fists, a baseball bat and even pepper spray. Meanwhile, the window of his pizzeria was destroyed with the same sledgehammer. When the police arrived on site, the group had already fled, leaving the victim injured. The man was transported to Chivasso emergency roomwhere he received the necessary treatment and a prognosis of a few days.
According to what was ascertained by investigators, the raid involved around ten people, who arrived on site in two cars. Thanks to the injured man’s story and the images from the surveillance cameras, the police were able to identify the three men and reconstruct what happened in detail. The restrictive measure orders were carried out on the morning of Tuesday 26 November. For the three suspects, the public prosecutor had initially requested precautionary custody in prison, but the investigating judge opted for a less severe measure.
Tension remains high in Volpiano, while investigators continue their investigations to identify the other people involved in the raid.
