As part of the intensification of services aimed at controlling the territory and road safety, the Carabinieri of the Chiavari and Santa Margherita Ligure Company carried out an extraordinary service, identifying around 120 people and over 60 cars, making 2 arrests and 5 complaints.
The military arrested a 40-year-old Italian man for family mistreatment and personal injury, following a report from some citizens who had heard loud noises and screams coming from a house. The man, already under house arrest (because he had violated the special surveillance ordered for persecutory acts against his ex-partner) had shortly before verbally and physically attacked the cohabiting father. He was taken to prison in Genoa Marassi. During the checkpoints the military arrested a 55-year-old in execution of a prison order as he was sentenced to almost four years in prison for crimes against property and drug dealing, two 40-year-old Slovaks were reported for illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of offending because, stopped in a car and subjected to a search, they were found in possession of a baseball bat and a switchblade 24 centimeters long, hidden under the front seats of the car, reported an Italian, in an evident state of drunkenness, who harassed and threatened passers-by, and they subjected several car drivers to alcohol tests, reporting two people who appeared to have a blood alcohol level significantly higher than the permitted limits.
