After putting her career on hold for a few months, Caroline Garcia should make her return to competition at the Australian Open (January 12-26).
She will reconnect with the little yellow ball. After taking a step back at the end of September, due to a certain malaise, with the desire to recharge her batteries with her family and loved ones, Caroline Garcia will make her return to competition at the Australian Open (12 -January 26). “Let the adventure begin. In just a month, if all goes well, I will return to the courts at the Australian Open. It’s not just a return to competition, it’s a personal confrontation. Every day I work hard, I push myself to be ready physically and mentally,” she wrote on social media.

At 31, the former world No. 4, now 48th in the WTA rankings, plans to return to the courts with a completely different mindset and much less pressure. “I want to discover what it means to play for me, to pursue my own goals, to find my own reasons, to ultimately discover the joy of being a tennis player. Not to let others define me,” she said.
A new philosophy
And added: “I no longer want winning a Grand Slam or returning to the top 5 to be my goals. I want these successes to be the result, the result of being happy, working hard and continually improving as a player and as a person. (…) Victory must be a consequence, not an end in itself.”
It is with this new approach that she wants to continue and end her career. “When this chapter ends, I want to be able to look back and know that I succeeded, not just as an athlete, but as a human being. That I faced every difficulty, every doubt, and forged my own path. That I left behind the unbearable weight of expectations and moved forward with courage and determination,” she concluded.
Last season, Caroline Garcia was eliminated in the second round by the Polish Magdalena Frech at the Australian Open, where she never made it past the round of 16 (2018, 2023) in 13 appearances.
