CASTELLAMONTE – Working to improve the city. There are not only works of considerable importance for Castellamonte and currently underway, such as the renovation of the former hospital, the drainage canal, the redevelopment of the baseball field. Other restylings have already been planned by the Municipality. This involves the recovery of the area relating to the former mill in via Caneva, the creation of new cemetery niches, the roundabout in the Spineto hamlet. Since this summer, then, thanks to the commitment of all the administrators and in particular of the public works department, led by the deputy mayor Teodoro Medaglia, various interventions have been carried out in addition to normal maintenance: «They constitute works of minor economic importance but necessary to improve the liveability of citizens” underlines the mayor of Castellamontese, Pasquale Mazza.

«At the cemetery, after years of requests from many citizens, we have renovated the toilets which were in pitiful conditions, for a sum of around 45 thousand euros – highlights the mayor – In the hamlet of Spineto we have finished , with the replacement of windows, the energy efficiency of the school building. We also carried out other small maintenance works in local schools for a total of 93 thousand euros. At Martinetti we reviewed the roof, as there were several leaks, and put the fire prevention system back into operation for a sum of 10,000 euros. At the elementary school gym we are finishing the work to replace the floor which was redone in 2016 (I leave the relevant considerations to you). We are making the electrical system more efficient and have repainted the premises. At the gym in via Trabucco, however, we are about to make improvements to the lighting system and install sunshades, for a total amount of 90,000 euros. These works will certainly bring savings on both the cost of electricity and heating. Furthermore, we are about to complete the redevelopment works of part of Piazza Vittorio for an amount of approximately 17,900 euros, thanks to the funds allocated by the Terre Canavesane Commerce District”.

With the relamping also at Palazzo Antonelli (for an amount of 70 thousand euros), the total of the interventions amounts to approximately 495,900 euros: «The feasibility of the works themselves was possible thanks to the finding of financial coverage by the budget councilor, Patrizia Addis. I also want to thank councilor Bethaz who acted as a liaison with the schools and sports associations to reduce the inconvenience as much as possible. Finally, I thank councilor Mariangela Bracco and the rest of the majority for their support in carrying out the aforementioned works.”
