The municipal pavilion of Xàbia, the Miguel Buigues Andrés, was the scene of an exciting afternoon of basketball during the celebration of the 36th Miguel Buigues Andrés Memorial, an event that brought together fans and teams. CB Joventut Xàbia, host of the tournament, offered a great show in all categories.
The 13 teams played their matches, although 11 did so at home. The results were good. And the junior team of CB Joventut Xàbia managed to win 80 to 42 against La Vila. For its part, the senior women’s team of CB Joventut Xàbia played a derby against CB Ifach Calpe. The locals faced a tough rival who finally got the victory, leaving a very close score of 60-65.
And the senior men’s team won the trophy. The main match of the afternoon came with the clash between the senior men’s team of CB Joventut Xàbia and CB Mutxamel. Under the direction of Óscar Mayordomo, the locals showed great defensive intensity and achieved a score of 57-50 and brought the Memorial trophy into the showcases of the green-black club.
