CEF N°3 participated in the closing national judo championship in Jujuy

Between November 13 and 18, San Salvador de Jujuy hosted the 2024 Argentine National Clausura Judo Championship, a prominent event on the sports calendar. The CEF N°3 team “Hugo Mario La Nasa” represented Concepción del Uruguay with great dedication, facing both extreme conditions and high-level rivals.

The championship took place in a challenging environment, with the height of the city and a thermal sensation that exceeded 45 degrees in the stadium, which tested the physical and mental resistance of the competitors. Despite injuries and intense fights, the judokas of CEF N°3 stood out in the competition.

Nahiara Romero, Lautaro Centurión, Santiago Prediger and Professor Joaquín Vila were very close to the podium, achieving a creditable 7th place after winning their first fights and falling in the decisive fights for the medals. Nehuén Romero, Malena Álvarez, Emma Aguirrez and Mateo Heidenreich also gave their best, achieving victories in the initial rounds before being eliminated in the round of 16. They faced high-level rivals, including national medalists and Evita Games champions.

The collective effort of the Entre Ríos team translated into 10th place overall for the province in the medal table, with a total of 5 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze, showing a clear improvement compared to previous years.

The rector of CEF N°3, Damián Viso, provided valuable support to the team, working side by side with the athletes and accompanying their families, who made a great effort to be present and encourage each fight.

Although no medals were achieved this time, the commitment and learning of the CEF N°3 judokas are a testament to the continued growth of judo in Concepción del Uruguay.
