The Cesar Selection completed an outstanding performance in the Caribbean Archery Zone, contest that took place in the city of Saint Martha and that consecrated the Caesarense athletes as the monarchs of the competition.
The Caesarense team won first place in the competition after winning 23 medals, of which 13 were from gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze. This event comes after the outstanding performance in the last National Youth Interleague Championship where the venue was Valledupar, leaving the subtitle for the locals.
The sporting event developed in the Los Trupillos holiday resort had the participation of Cesar in the categories, sub-12, sub-15, sub-18 and sub-21 in the individual and mixed modalities of the male and female branches.
The medalists
The gold medals were obtained by Guadalupe Mendoza, in the female under-12 category; Andrea Vega, under-15 A mixed; Lucas Gámez, men’s sub-15 A; Daniela Cardozo, female under-15 B; Rafael Espítia, mixed under-18; Héctor Rincón, mixed under-21; Guadalupe Méndez, female under-12 individual; and the mixed team of the under-15 B category made up of Daniela Cardozo and Lucas Gámez.
For their part, the silver medals were obtained Alejandro Cardozo, mixed under-15 A (2 medals); Nicolás Santo Domingo, male U-15 B (2); Gabriela Reinoso, female sub-15 B and Daniela Cardozo, female sub-15 B. The honor roll for Cesar was completed by bronze medalists Kendry Mendoza, mixed under-18; Karen Cadena, mixed under-21 (2 medals); Kendry Mendoza, mixed under-18.
In dialogue with EL PILÓN, Arimelis López, president of the Cesar Archery Leaguementioned that “Obtaining the title shows that both the athletes and the entity have been carrying out serious work that is giving positive results both locally and regionally.”
Now the next step to follow will be participation in the National Development Championship, contest that will take place from December 1 to 5 in the city of Medellín and where it is expected to have a wide representation of Caesarean athletes.
