Champions League: FC Barcelona defeats Belgrade, Bayern gets second win

The FC Bayern Munich won against Benfica Lisbon. Jamal Musiala scored the winning goal with a header in the 67th minute to make it 1-0 (0-0). This means that Munich now has six points.

The victory was overshadowed by a death. Around an hour after the final whistle, the German soccer record champions received “the sad news” that a fan had died on the way to the hospital. Shortly after kick-off, the spectator in the stands received emergency medical care and was then transported away. “FC Bayern is at the side of the relatives in mourning,” the club wrote on its website. Out of sympathy, the Bayern fans in the south curve refrained from their usual loud support of their team during the game.

Red Star Belgrade – FC Barcelona 2:5 (1:2)

The FC Barcelona won 5:2 (2:1) against Red Star Belgrade. A header from Iñigo Martínez initially gave Barcelona the lead in the 13th minute, but Silas equalized in the 27th minute. This was followed by two goals from Robert Lewandowski, one shortly before half-time (43′), the second shortly after the restart (53′). The other goals for Barcelona were scored by Raphinha (55th) and Fermín López (76th). Felício Milson scored for Belgrade to make the final score (84′). With the third win in the fourth game, Barça moved up to sixth place.

Inter Milan – Arsenal FC 1:0 (1:0)

Arsenal FC has a 0-1 win against Inter Milan lost. A hand penalty from Hakan Çalhanoğlu (45th + 3rd) gave Milan victory. This puts Inter in fifth place with ten points after four games, while Arsenal are in twelfth place after their first defeat.

VfB Stuttgart – Atalanta Bergamo 0:2 (0:0)

VfB Stuttgart has to fight for qualification for the next round Champions League fear. The Swabians lost 2-0 (0-0) to Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo in their home game and fell behind in the league round. The Swabians have to reach at least 24th place in order to get into the play-offs for the round of 16.

In the Stuttgart Arena, former Leipzig Bundesliga player Ademola Lookman (51st minute) scored the 1-0 lead for the guests. Shortly before the end, Nicolò Zaniolo (88th) scored to make the final score 0-2. The Swabians, who only have one win and four points to their name, will play at Red Star Belgrade on the next match day.
