DÜLMEN DR. The 20 discharged children from the St. Monika Family Center are currently allowed to take part in a very special project. She currently has a judo lesson once a week. The children are divided into two groups and are instructed by the judo teacher Hans Urban.
An educator also accompanies the judo units. “The children really enjoy coming, they really have fun,” reports inclusive specialist Annette Alfs, who organized the project.
There is also a lot of positive feedback from parents. The project is intended, among other things, to help children feel their bodies better, gain more self-confidence and give them the opportunity to have a permitted, regulated test of strength. However, what Alfs also emphasizes: “It doesn’t work without sponsors. The project would not be able to be financed from the normal budget.” The project is supported by the Community Foundation and the Sparkasse Westmünsterland. The sponsors, represented by Christoph Schrey (Sparkasse) and Berthold Büning (Community Foundation), had the opportunity to take part in a judo lesson on Wednesday and were very convinced of the special project.
