Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase sets an NFL record. In both games of the season against the Baltimore Ravens, he caught a total of 431 yards. Never before has an NFL player gained so much space in two games against the same opponent in one season.
It was all the more bitter for Chase that, despite his performance in games in Week 5 and Week 10, he was unable to win. The 34:35 defeat followed an earlier 38:41 defeat. In total, Chase was thrown at 29 times in both games, caught 21 passes for the said 431 and a total of 5 touchdowns.
He broke the previous record set by Art Powell, who scored 428 yards against the Houston Oilers in 1963 for the then Oakland Raiders.
