I Italian C21 FISDIR basketball championships they return to the Marche after 9 years. The event of June 2015, curated then as now byAnthroposalways took place at Civitanova Marche.
There are seven teams registered for the final phase and precisely the reigning Champions of Inteam Latina, Atletico AIPD Oristano, Basket Forever Formia, Don Orione Ercolano, the debutants Gs Libertas Fiorano and Ostia Warriors as well as the hosts Anthropos.
Over 80 players ready to try their hand at two days of sport and social events that embrace each other to merge and express all their value on the pitch. The races will take place at Pale Risorgimento on the days of Friday 22 (afternoon), Saturday 23 (morning and afternoon) e Sunday 24th (morning) and at the E. Mestica School Gym Friday 22 (afternoon) e Saturday 23 (morning).
The title will be awarded on Sunday morning. The awards ceremony will be preceded by a performance of Band of Civitanova Marche. Guests for the awards ceremony, in addition to local and regional political authorities and representatives of the sponsors, will be the multiple Paralympic champion Assunta Legnante and a celebrity who made basketball history as Walter the Magnificentone of the greatest exponents of Italian basketball ever.
As already mentioned, the three-day event is organised, by delegation from Fisdir, by the president’s Anthropos Nelio Piermattei in collaboration with the Virtus Basket of the president Nicola Morettiand can count on the support of the Federation itself, the Municipality of Civitanova Marche and numerous volunteers, with the patronage of the Municipality of Civitanova Marche and the Region.

“As a federal councilor I can express satisfaction and regret at the same time; satisfaction with the constant growth of the movement of athletes with Down syndrome”, he declared instead Nelio Piermattei (president of Anthropos Asd and national councilor of Fisdir).
“Thanks also to the continuous successes of our national team, new teams are joining our championship; there is regret, however, for the continuous difficulty in making the other part of the movement grow in parallel and we will certainly need to work on this in the future and the representative national technician Giuliano Bufacchi is already evaluating initiatives and variations for this purpose – underlined Piermattei – As president of Anthropos I can only be extremely satisfied with the continuous and growing proposal of paralympic sport of our association. We are certainly the only organization in Italy that organizes 5 Italian championships over the course of a season and participates in over 20 national championships in addition to the rest of the proposed activity which sees the participation of around 300 girls and boys with disabilities engaged in 8 sports disciplines”.
