Sergio Ramos has been without a club since last summer and has turned down numerous transfer options since his departure from Sevilla FC. The veteran is now in negotiations with Boca Juniors, where ex-Real professional Fernando Gago is attracted.VG word tracking pixels

At 38 years old, Sergio Ramos still hasn’t had enough and is clearly not thinking about ending his career. As Relevo reports, the Spaniard is currently negotiating a free transfer with Boca Juniors. Ramos has been without a club since July 1st and can therefore sign up for a new club at any time – apparently the top Argentine club has a good chance.

Although the Spanish record player would reportedly have to accept a halving of his previous salary, he is said to be not averse to a move. Above all, Boca coach Fernando Gago, who played with Sergio Ramos at Real Madrid for four years between 2007 and 2011, could therefore be crucial.

Gago has only been in office at Boca Juniors since mid-October and is likely to want to sign Ramos as his star player. The central defender spent last season with his youth club FC Sevilla, where he returned after 18 years. Even though he himself showed strong performances, the Andalusians disappointed and missed out on international business for the first time in over ten years.

Even the return of Real Madrid was an issue

Both sides would have liked to extend the cooperation, but Sevilla simply could no longer afford the four-time Champions League winners. That’s why he’s been looking for a club since the summer – and has turned down multiple change options from a variety of different options. Above all, a transfer to Saudi Arabia has been an issue for a long time.

In addition, Inter Miami around Lionel Messi and Co. was said to be interested in Ramos. In the meantime, there was even speculation about a possible return to Real Madrid after the Royals were missing two central defenders in David Alaba and Eder Militao. With the numerous failed transfers, it remains to be seen whether Boca Juniors can actually convince the world and European champions.
