The Indianapolis Colts suffered a tough 6:24 defeat against the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL) on Sunday. Austrian tackle Bernhard Raimann, who did not play in the 28:27 win against the New York Jets due to an injury, was not back yet.
For NFC leaders Detroit, who are superior in all statistics against the Colts, it was the ninth victory en suite or the tenth success in eleven games. Lions running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs scored the touchdowns for the guests before halftime. Gibbs stepped up in the third quarter, but celebrated a little too much – the 22-year-old was warned for provoking his opponent.
Detroit’s victory was never really in danger against the Colts, who didn’t manage a touchdown. In all relevant statistics, the Lions, who were particularly convincing defensively, were ahead. In this form, head coach Dan Campbell’s selection is a promising candidate for the Super Bowl, which takes place on February 9th (local time) in New Orleans.
