Connor Williams has announced his retirement after seven years in the NFL. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald explained that Williams made the decision for personal reasons, which the organization respected.
The offensive lineman began his career with the Texas Longhorns in college before the Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the second round in 2018. After four solid seasons in Dallas, he moved to the Miami Dolphins in 2022, where he started all 17 games of the season. However, an ACL injury in 2023 prematurely ended his second season in Miami, after which he joined the Seahawks in 2024 and started nine games before deciding to retire.
Williams established himself as a reliable interior lineman and posted his best season performance in 2022 with a Pro Football Focus Grade of 86.5. However, in Seattle his level dropped to 63.9 before he decided to end his career. Olu Oluwatimi will take over for him. Macdonald praised the former fifth-round pick from Michigan, who has worked hard and can now look forward to a great opportunity.
