Conor Mcgregor has been found guilty of a rape that took place in 2018. An Irish jury has determined that he must compensate Nikita Hand with nearly 250,000 euros for sexually assaulting her. As it is a civil and not criminal lawsuit, the fighter will only have to pay compensation to the victim.

According to testimony presented to Ireland’s High Court, Hand alleged that McGregor, 36, sexually assaulted her on December 9, 2018 in a hotel penthouse in south Dublin. During the two-week trial, another man, James Lawrence, was also accused of taking part in the assault, although he has been found not guilty.

McGregor denied the allegations, saying he had “completely consensual” sexual relations with the victim and denied causing her injuries. However, the plaintiff’s lawyer, John Gordon, highlighted that the day after the attack the girl had to be treated in a sexual assault unit and that a doctor documented her injuries.

Hand said she knew McGregor and that, after a work Christmas party, she and a friend contacted him. He then took them to an attic, where drugs and alcohol were consumed, and subsequently led Hand to a bedroom and assaulted her. The victim’s lawyers had demanded almost two million euros in compensation.
