Convincing Arsenal’s revenge on ‘ideal’ opponent Waterwijk

The new number five Arsenal met the new number seven in the rankings in Amsterdam: Waterwijk. At the start of the meeting, the difference was one point in Waterwijk’s favor, the Amsterdam team managed to get their revenge on Saturday afternoon after last week’s defeat in Heiloo. Then they lost 5-0 to Foresters. Ryan Smart, coach of Waterwijk, looked at it soberly afterwards. “A big result, but a result for all of us. Also from the players who could not play for various reasons. We shouldn’t make it bigger than it is. We will continue on the same course.”

In the first half, Arsenal made the difference with four beautiful goals from distance. Twice Kiet Versluys and twice Arie Boersma made the difference in an otherwise fairly even match.

After the final touches were put on the table by both coaches during the half-time break, Waterwijk straightened out. Ultimately, the final score was set at 5-1 by a goal from Waterwijk debutant Yorik Kempers and the good debut of Badr El Yaakoubi from the youth at Waterwijk gave a positive feeling. Arsenal managed to add another goal, although they needed Waterwijk with an own goal.

The Imro Wielkens team had a beautiful afternoon and their third victory of the season. Partly because of this, last week’s disappointing result has faded into the background. Look here for all the results, the standings and the program in Saturday 2A
