It took place yesterday in the Palazzetto delle Grazie in Verona Italian championship for regional teamsa very high level competition in which over 160 athletes from the strongest regions of Italy participated.
The race, which closes the 2024 season, saw the participation of 13 athletes from CUS Siena Judo who competed in 6 different kata, achieving extraordinary results demonstrating the excellent technical preparation of all the Sienese athletes.
Elia Domenichini and Daniele Gabbrielliniin the Nage no kata under 18 they ranked first with 235.5 points, performing an extremely precise kata in all the smallest details, improving their already excellent performance in the Italian championship which took place in July and where they had already won the silver medal.
Also in the nage no kata under 18 they participated Adelaide Sassetti paired with Alvise Gallotaking second place with 217 points. They too have made a big leap in quality since the last race, demonstrating confidence and a maturation of understanding.
Leonardo Benza e Guglielmo Sensi they participated in the katame no kata under 18, who in their first experience together reached third place with 151 points, just one point from the first place, demonstrating their great potential which bodes well for the future of the couple.
Gaia and Emma Nastasi they participated in the Ju no kata under 18, winning fourth place with 154 points by performing a very soft but at the same time decisive and precise kata, they too continue a path of growth climbing the rankings from match to match.
In addition to the under 18 kata, CUS Siena competed in three over 18 kata.
Francesco Cosentino e Andrea Giannettoni they competed for the first time in the nage no kata, achieving an excellent sixth place with 348.50 points, demonstrating good maturity and being able to also compete in the top series despite being the youngest (both fifteen years old).
Nel Kodokan Goshin Jutsu hanno gareggiato Riccardo Pinto e Samuel Picciafuochi reaching second place with 512.50 performing a very precise kata, surpassing the couple who had represented Italy at the World Championship only two weeks ago.
The kime no kata also saw the participation of the cussino Yuri Ferrettipaired with the Venetian Enrico Tommasiwho took first place with 535 points by performing a kata with the right calm and decision at the right time.
Thanks to the precious support and important results of the Cussini athletes, the Tuscany region ranked third in the general ranking of the regions.
These important results will certainly be a stimulus for the next season which will be full of kata competitions starting from the Piedmont stage of the national circuit which will take place in January.
