For those affected, cyberbullying is an extreme burden from which they can hardly escape. But: You can at least report bullying on the Internet. As early as 2016, Austria introduced Section 107c in the Criminal Code: “Continued harassment by means of telecommunications or a computer system”. Anyone who bullies online can now face up to a year in prison or a fine. Three years’ imprisonment applies if the victim commits suicide or attempts to commit suicide. But: it often remains a threat.
