The young pearl of Soria badminton, Daniela Corchón, belonging to the Soria-CS24 Badminton Club, faces one of the key events of the season this weekend with her participation in the Spanish U19 Championship.
The volantista, despite competing with older players, has prepared this competition with the aim of fighting for medals in the three modalities in which she is registered.
The classification for these three teams has been complicated because they have had to alternate their competitions in singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles to achieve the results that have allowed them to overcome the cutoff established by the Spanish Federation.
The Soriana’s debut will take place at twelve thirty in the morning on Friday in the individual round of 32, against a seeded team. It will not be until late in the afternoon of Friday itself when she will make her debut in both the women’s doubles with the Navarrese Ainhoa Larraya and in the mixed doubles modality with the Huesca Alejandro Gállego, being seeded.
The competition will take place for three days in the “Corredoria Arena” pavilion in Oviedo, a facility designed with special attention to the sport of badminton.
Corchón, who has already been a medalist in previous editions of the national badminton event par excellence, will be accompanied by coach Victor Ortega, head of the Soria Badminton Club.
The player’s ambition, level and competitive spirit can lead her to get on the podium despite facing rivals with more experience than the Soriano.
In addition to this important event, another member of the Soriano club, Jorge Peñaranda, will compete in a territorial event in Vitoria in which he starts as the main favorite in the absolute men’s singles and will complete his participation alongside the Navarrese Francisco Javier Baquedano in the men’s doubles draw.
