The RTK online is more than just a guideline – it represents a comprehensive framework for long-term training that supports trainers at all levels in their daily work.
In addition to the numerous campaigns by the DBV and its state associations in the first half of the year, the Bavarian Badminton Association (BBV) organized further training in Nuremberg at the VICTOR state performance base in October 2024.
Lukas Gunzelmann, sports director in Bavaria, took the lead in organizing this exclusive training with Diemo Ruhnow for all base management as well as the association’s entire competitive sports and teaching staff with the aim of “offering better children’s training across the board” with the help of the framework training concept.
Ruhnow, who took the lead in creating the online framework training concept, introduced the participants to the basic ideas, details and important connections in the various training stages of the RTK. The participants were able to experience the RTK in different formats: In addition to theoretical modules, the concept was applied directly in children’s training and supplemented by practical exercises in the field. This mix of theory, application and practical relevance helped the participants not only to understand the principles of RTK, but also to implement them directly.
Katja Holenz – A trainer & base trainer:
“The two days of training in Nuremberg went by very quickly – that’s always a good sign. The training was super helpful for me because it gave me a completely new perspective on training planning and implementation. Even now, with some distance, I can say that we are currently trying out a lot in club and base training, using the RTK to think about which basics we still need to work on and how we can structure the training better (in the long term). Thank you for this instructive training!”
Oliver Roth – A coach & former vice European champion men’s doubles:
“I traveled to Nuremberg for the training with Diemo with great expectations, all of which were met. Since I have been working more as a club coach in my son’s club for a few weeks, I was able to put the content of the training together with the RTK into practice straight away I found the structure of the training with several different contents in one unit rather than just one “big” topic very interesting. Overall, it was a training course with a lot of practical relevance.
The training showed how theory and practice can be combined in badminton training. It offered the participants valuable inspiration for integrating RTK into their everyday training routine and taking both structural and didactic methods with them for practice. Thanks to a well-organized program by the Bavarian Badminton Association and the practical content that Diemo Ruhnow conveyed skillfully and with a lot of energy, the two days were a complete success. The BBV and its coaching staff as well as the base trainers are now even more motivated to continue to implement these approaches not only at the bases, but also across the board in club training.
