Defeat in the semifinals: Linda Efler misses the final at the Badminton Open

For Linda Efler from 1.BC Bischmisheim, the Badminton Open was over after the semi-finals. Together with Thuc Phuong Nguyen, she suffered a defeat against their opponents from Ukraine on Saturday evening.

Linda Efler from 1.BC Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim missed out on making it to the final at the Badminton Open in the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken together with Thuc Phuong Nguyen. On Saturday they lost to the Ukrainian duo Polina Buhrova and Yevheniia Kantemyr in two sets – the Ukrainians won 21:15 and 21:14.

They will face Taiwanese Shuo Yun Sung and Chien Hui Yu in the final on Sunday. In the women’s singles final are Mia Blichfeldt from Denmark and Malvika Bansod from India.

Final participants stand firm

In the men’s singles, two brothers battle it out for victory. Christo and Toma Junior Popov from France will meet in the final.

In doubles, the Danes Rasmus Kjäer and Frederik Sögaard play against Ben Lane and Sean Vendy from England. In the mixed doubles, Jesper Toft and Amalie Magelund from Denmark and Alexander Dunn and Julie Macpherson from Scotland are fighting for the title.

Seidel and Hess were already eliminated in the quarterfinals

Marvin Seidel and Daniel Hess from 1.BC Bischmisheim were already eliminated in the quarterfinals on Friday. They competed together in doubles for the first time and lost to the Danes Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard in two sets.
