This afternoon, a disciplined CCW’16 has deservedly won the match against the feared SV Colmschate, a team with a long track record at a level that CCW’16 can only dream of.
The first ten minutes were clearly for the home club: CCW then got into the game a little better and the first corner kick was immediately converted when Laurens van de Werff was able to head in the 0-1, a huge support for the young team.
It was as if something snapped on the opponent’s side after this early deficit, because from that moment on CCW was the superior party for the entire match and the home team only became dangerous after half an hour when goalkeeper Jochem van Ruth managed to parry a header excellently. .
A setback for CCW was that first Koen ter Riele had to leave the field injured and was replaced by Tim Bakker and a little later a bet from Laurens van Werff landed hard on the post and had to settle for a small lead.
The second half was barely five minutes old when CCW managed to double the lead: after a good attack and combination in the center, it was Ruben de Haan who decisively left the home club’s goalkeeper without a chance (0-2).
After this goal, CCW continued to have the better of the game with very solid football and Colmschate was absolutely unable to create a chance. If CCW had been more careful with the space and possibilities offered, the score could easily have been slightly higher.
All in all, a very creditable victory for CCW and while it was certainly a very good team performance, this time the very strong Lars Achten was man of the match and CCW continues to compete surprisingly well in the top of the 4e class B currently.
Next week the last game before the winter break at home against SV Terwolde, a team that has also done very well as a PhD student so far. Starts Sunday, December 1. again at 2 p.m.
