Selected to benefit from the actions of the Beninese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOS BEN) in its 2024 Continental Activities program in its “Sport Development” component, the Beninese Handball and Tennis federations were served this Thursday, November 7, 2024. Eighty (80) SEMO number 2 balls and eighty (80) SEMO number 3 balls with an estimated cost of four million (4,000,000) CFA francs, this is the support in sports equipment provided by the National Committee Olympique et Sportif Beninois (CNOS BEN) to the Beninese Handball Federation as part of this program to support sports federations for their development. The Beninese Tennis Federation, for its part, received a package of sports equipment worth four million (4,000,000) CFA francs. Remember that twelve federations have already benefited from the fruits of this program to support sports federations with sports equipment. Rowing, Baseball/Softball, Karate, Roller Sports, Rugby, Triathlon, Basketball, Volleyball, Fencing, Wrestling, Taekwondo and Swimming are the first twelve Beninese federations which have benefited from this CNOS BEN project.
For the president of the Beninese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOS BEN), Julien Minavoa, the objective of this activity is to provide support to federations in the acquisition of quality sports equipment, specific to the practice of their discipline in order to contribute to improving the performance of athletes. “The Beninese national Olympic sports committee has around thirty member federations since the end of the other Olympiad, that is to say the Covid Olympiad, namely Tokyo; we had planned to come to the assistance of each of the federations. This is how we scheduled them two by two, until today we landed on tennis and handball. This is just so that none of our federations suffer especially from their working materials. You know very well that the farmer who must go into his field without having a cart for plowing must be able to have a hoe, a cutter and others, an ax to be able to fell the trees and others. It’s the same way as in sport, our federations should have the minimum amount of equipment,” he declared.
Enthusiastic, the representatives of the two federations presented their gratitude to the Beninese National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOS BEN) and its president. “We are very honored because the Beninese tennis federation benefited from this important prize, we are happy because this equipment arrived at the right time.
