On the first day of the badminton discipline, in the XXI National Youth Sports Games Oriente 2024, which was held this Tuesday, November 19, the Mérida team had an outstanding performance in the spaces of the Universidad de Oriente (UDO), state Monagas.
In this first round, which gave way to the individual modalities, both female and male, the people from Merida Jhonathan Molina, Massiel Zambrano, Ángel Urdaneta and Gleimar Sánchez defeated the representatives of Miranda (2-1), Falcón (2 -0), Aragua (2-0) and Miranda (2-0), respectively. Marcus Varela lost to Cojedes (0-2).
While, in the mixed doubles branch, Ángel Urdaneta and Massiel Zambrano beat the host representative team of Monagas (2-0).
