This Saturday, the Diego Lobato pavilion will be the scene of the first day of the I Huelva TSV Judo League, an event organized by the TSV Judo Club with the support of the Huelva City Council. Under the Randori modality, participants, between 3 and 16 years old, will compete in refereed bouts organized by age, level and weight, in an educational and sporting environment that puts the learning and values of judo at the forefront.
The Councilor for Youth and Sports, María de la O Rubio, highlighted in the presentation that this league marks the return of grassroots judo to the city after 15 years of absence. “It is an opportunity to train our young people in the values of effort, discipline and camaraderie, while promoting the practice of sports from an early age,” Rubio said.
For his part, Santi Mazarío, president of the TSV Judo Club, stressed that the tournament, which will have about 300 bouts, is designed to prioritize fun and learning for the participants, keeping them away from competitive pressure. In addition, he announced that the league will continue in April with a second day focused on Tecni-Judo, a modality that will evaluate technical skills based on age and grade.
This event not only seeks to promote judo, but also to instill values such as empathy and the ability to improve, consolidating itself as an example of the commitment of the City Council and local clubs to grassroots sport in Huelva.
