The call-up of the Brazilian team for the games against Venezuela and Uruguay, this month, in the World Cup qualifiers, should confirm that the coach will end the year with a defined base team. So far, Dorival has commanded the Seleção in 12 matches, and although he has used 38 players, some have been quite frequent on the field.

One of them is a definite figure in the Brazilian team: Bruno Guimarães. Whether as a starter or substitute, the midfielder played in all 12 of the team’s matches under the command of Dorival Júnior. He is the only one among the almost four dozen players used to have taken the field every time.
The midfield also has the second most used athlete by the coach, Lucas Paquetá. The West Ham midfielder was used in the Brazilian team in 11 games by Dorival Júnior. And he was only left out of the last one, in the 4-0 defeat of Peru, last month, due to being suspended.
Selection call-up must confirm attack
In addition to two midfield players, the national team’s call-up can confirm that Dorival Júnior has finally found his chosen ones for the attack. Even though the Botafogo duo, Luiz Henrique and Igor Jesus, proved to be reliable in the last round of the Qualifiers, five names have been frequent in the games.
With 11 performances, Endrick had the most chances, followed by Rodrygo. It’s no surprise that the duo is in Dorival’s top scorer, with three goals. Raphinha, in great form at Barcelona, also scored three times, but entered the field “only” on eight occasions.
Vinicius Júnior, of course, is another trustworthy one. The Real Madrid striker played in 9 of the 12 matches. In the three he was absent, it was due to injury or suspension. Savinho, now at Manchester City, also won nine opportunities.
In defense, right-back Danilo is the participation leader. He played 10 of the 12 games and, when he plays, he has been the captain of the Brazilian team. The other captain, Marquinhos, played nine times.
In this Friday’s selection call, all of them must be called up again. The only doubt is Savinho, who left in pain in City’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham in the League Cup.
